![]() ![]() It is slightly buggy, occasional audio glitches are noticeable. Must work on Mac (and preferably also Windows if possible.) Must be able to route *any* application so it has to be a standalone and not a DAW plugin. I'm looking for something I can use to host VST/AU effects and route any audio application to that before it goes to my sound card. The Loopback/Patchwork combo works great (except that I can't choose a latency above 512 samples in Live which I usually would since I don't often need low latency monitoring.) But the price is a little steep if buying both. Enough that I've put up with the occasional odd glitches. I've gone from creating mixes which sounded completely unbalanced anywhere else to ones which sound mostly OK in other locations, and the sound of other people's music is noticeably improved. ![]() But it's my only option right now and for my general listening position it works. Now I know this is the wrong way to fix the problem. With careful listening to music I know well and using movie dialogue I identified some bad resonances which I have tamed with EQ through menuBUS. I have a crappy mix/listening environment (surprisingly so as I've worked in untreated rooms in various locations and never experienced anything this bad.) I'm renting and not allowed to make modifications, not even putting things on the wall, so proper fixes which require anything done to the room are out of the question. Microphones used: Neumann U87, Shure SM57, Sennheiser MD421-II, Electrovoice RE20, AKG D12 (for that fat trombone) to name a few.I should probably have explained they why of my request.
